Hi, I am Linda Avitan.

For over thirty years I have been a therapist for children, youth, and families in the public and private sectors.

As a certified marital and family therapist, I treat couples with a wide range of challenges from improving basic communication skills to crises concerning trust and fidelity. I help families who experience disharmony as well as children and youth with behavior and regulation issues.

I offer parental guidance and support, particularly in key areas for which I have certification and/or experience: ADHD, divorce, and LGBTQ+. I also treat children and adults in those areas.

I am a certified Family Mediator, assisting couples in reaching divorce agreements that give children's needs high priority. Mediation saves couples time, money, and agony while reaching a viable divorce agreement. 

As a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) instructor, certified by Cornell University, I offer staff workshops in educational facilities and residential treatment centers.

I have a B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University, New Jersey, and an M.S.W. from Columbia University in N.Y. I am certified in Marital and Family Therapy as well as Family Mediation by The Israeli Association for Marital and Family Therapy and Family Life Education (IAMFT). I am a certified parent counselor for ADHD by Seminar Hakibutzim Education College. I have extensive education in child therapy and family violence intervention and therapy.
